Return loads and backload delivery

Vehicles that deliver in one direction often come back part-empty. A return load, or backload, uses that spare space, so a non-urgent consignment can travel at a lower price than a dedicated one-way booking.

What to expect

• A lower price than a dedicated vehicle, subject to the route and the day
• Delivery on flexible dates agreed with you
• UK routes, especially to and from London, depending on what is running
• The same written quote and clear terms as any other job

When it does not suit

Return loads are for non-urgent freight. If you have a fixed delivery time or need the goods there today, a dedicated vehicle or same-day courier is the right choice.

How it works

Tell us your route and your timing. If a suitable vehicle is running that way, we quote the return-load price. If not, we tell you straight away and quote a dedicated option instead.

How we deliver this

Some jobs, including larger vehicles and international freight, are carried out with carefully selected partner carriers. VoltFleet stays your single point of contact and remains responsible to you for the job.

What to tell us

• The collection and delivery postcodes, with floor numbers
• The date and time you need, and how flexible you are
• What is moving: item count, rough sizes and weight, or the number of pallets
• Stairs, lifts, loading bays, parking and any permits or restrictions at both ends
• Whether you need help carrying, a tail-lift or a second person

How it is priced
